Raffi sings "It's mine but you can have some, with you I'd like to share it..."
This song has been stuck in my head. As I looked at the lyrics through the lens of health, I wondered is it possible to give someone health? My first answer is no. You cannot give someone their natural state. It's their birthright. But, if you can't tangibly give it to them, can you intangibly? I think yes. They say we are the sum of the 5 people we spend our time with. If that's the case, if you spend your time with people who are healthy, positive, proactive, and supportive of health behaviors then you're more likely to be that way. In this intangible way, you have now been given health and been the giver of health to those people. What if you intentionally then spent time with one person who you'd like to gift health to. And you intentionally showered them with your energy and vibration and habits and all that goes into making you the healthiest, happiest human around? Do you think that it might "rub off" on them? I would say yes. Here's the kicker though. Your responsibility for giving them health ends where your ability to take action ends - with you. You cannot force them to support their bodies. You cannot change their minds about how they think about themselves and the world. You cannot will them to be healthier. Because their responsibility for their health ends at their own ability to take action for themselves. Everyone is on their own journey and must make the best decisions for themselves. These choices will always come from their own thinking that appears real to them. And that will most likely be different to what you think. Be kind. Be inquisitive. Be intentional. Be inspirational about how you take care of yourself. And with this you might just gift health to somebody else as you inspire them to step into their natural state of health.
